Job Summary
The Compensation Manager leads the design, implementation, and governance of the organization's operational compensation programs to ensure compliance, competitiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain operations compensation policies and frameworks that support organizational goals and comply with local, state, federal regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Ensure adherence to mandatory minimum wage requirements and labor laws across all jurisdictions, lead compliance audits and reporting.
- Oversee administration of union pay adjustments and collaborate with Labor Relations on compensation components of collective bargaining agreements.
- Represent Compensation in Line of Business meetings, providing timely updates and strategic insights on mandatory pay increases, including their projected impact on budgets, financial, performance, and overall business objectives.
- Lead operational wage and market analyses; recommend adjustments to maintain competitive positioning and internal equity.
- Design and maintain pay schedules and differential programs; ensure accurate implementation in HRIS and timekeeping systems.
- Provide advanced analytics and dashboards to inform executive decision-making on operational pay strategies and workforce planning.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to align compensation programs with organizational priorities and financial objectives.
- Oversee testing, validation, and implementation of compensation-related system updates; ensure data integrity and process efficiency.
- Manage Compensation Inbox and ensure timely resolution of inquiries.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field; CCP certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in compensation, including project management resopnsibilities.
- Expertise in compensationa and wage/hour compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, modeling) and HRIS systems.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Strong computer system skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time in an office environment.
- Occasionally move about inside an office setting to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Walk short distances.
- Reach above and/or below shoulder.
- Handle/grasp documents or office equipment.
- Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time.
- Lift/carry/move objects, files and documents up to 10 pounds.
- Talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone, with co-workers and external parties.
