Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our dynamic team at Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a leading air cargo and ground handling company. The successful candidate will play a crucial role managing the full lifecycle of strategic projects governed by the North America Project Management Organization at WFS and should have a proven track record leading and overseeing projects from initiation to completion. This role requires collaborating with cross-functional teams, setting project objectives and business cases, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple projects impacting various parts of WFS at any single point in time. The project sponsor teams we support include, but are not limited to, Operations (network-wide), Safety & Security, etc. The selected candidate will be versatile and able to multi-task and efficiently prioritize between initiatives to optimally support PMO leadership and the WFS organization.

Responsibilities

Project lifecycle management

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline project scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Effectively communicate (and confirm understanding of) project requirements, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Elicit project cost and benefit information.
  • Create, maintain, and track project budgets.
  • Identify and proactively manage project risks and mitigation strategies, and project change.
  • Facilitate key decision alignment and business readiness activities across WFS functions.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment while holding project stakeholders accountable for results.
  • Comfortably and persuasively interact with personnel of all levels and facilitate project decisions.
  • Challenge the status quo and keep project and operational goals in the forefront of decision-making.
  • Conduct regular project reviews to assess progress and challenges and identify recovery actions.
  • Take proactive measures to ensure project success despite challenges.
  • Provide regular project updates to numerous audiences, including project team, project sponsors and senior leaders.
  • Create and maintain project documentation.

 

PMO and Portfolio Governance

  • Provide process enhancement recommendations to PMO leadership and promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the WFS organization.
  • Contribute to the establishment of PMO project best practices.
  • Adhere to and enforce project quality standards.
  • Prepare project scorecards and project briefs for a variety of senior leaders at portfolio governance forums.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Management practitioner
  • 3-5 years of relevent work experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office product suite

  • PMP certification (optional but desirable)

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an office environment, and a warehouse. It requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, as well as occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
