Job Overview

The Staff Tax Accountant will provide support and preparation on multiple tax projects in the finance and accounting department. And will report to the Tax Director.



The Staff Tax Accountant will provide support and preparation on a variety of tax projects for Worldwide Flight Services. This position requires strong technical and communication skills to coordinate with senior leadership, managers, and operations staff to ensure timely, quality delivery of both simple and complex tax data. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. The position will be located at our DFW Corporate Headquarters. Sales and Use Tax

  • Review sales and use tax data
  • Reconcile sales and use tax general ledger accounts

Sales and Use Tax Special Projects

  • Assist with the sales and use tax automation system
  • Assist in document collation and analysis for sales and use tax audits
  • Assist with reverse sales tax audits

Business Licenses

  • Maintain and renew annual business licenses for all applicable states
  • Maintain the business license platform database

Federal and State Income Taxes Assistance

  • Research and respond to miscellaneous tax notices
  • Assist in document collation and analysis for tax audits
  • Other duties as required.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/ or related field is required
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and deadlines
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge and skills in a wide variety of applications, Microsoft Excel and Word advanced proficiency strongly desired.
  • Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Research orientated with problem-solving skills
  • Superior attention to detail with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Self-starter with independent judgment.
  • Ability to identify and propose solutions to problems and pro-actively deal with non-recurring issues in a professional and responsive manner
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with various levels of personnel to accomplish goals.
  • Flexible in dealing with change with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Read and understand letters and numbers in order to accurately inspect and/or analyze a variety of financial records including contracts, orders, vouchers, ledgers, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, etc.
  • Capable of assimilating large volumes of detailed information, organizing and presenting material in simple terms.
