Job Summary

The Workers’ Compensation Manager is responsible for enhancing the Worker’s Compensation claim management processes while effectively managing overall costs. Responsible for developing and collaborating successful partnerships between third party administrators (TPA), internal business partners and external service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures business is compliant with state specific Workers’ Compensation regulations andcompany policies and guidelines
  • Acts as the point of contact for all claims matters both internally and externally
  • Ensures TPA manages the claims diligently, partners with Safety and Legal (internal and external) to manage relevant claim details, implement plan for timely resolution of claims
  • Partner with multiple departments to coordinate and manage Return to Work programs for employees to ensure that work restrictions and transitional work guidelines are being adhered to
  • Conduct quarterly claim reviews with TPA to ensure proper management of claims, determine opportunities for efficient resolutions and partner with all relevant parties on plans of action.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Worker’s Compensation claims management guidelines and related laws as well as an understanding of common medical and legal terminology.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and company policies, procedures, and risk controls.
  • Formulate related claims data to present and develop strategies to efficiently manage costs and reduce risk.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years Workers’ Compensation and/or claims management experience required
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
