Job Summary

The work of Manager-on-Duty Cargo Services includes directing supervisory personnel within assigned functional area; overseeing and advising on staffing requirements; monitor/administer discipline/corrective action by or for subordinates; ensuring customer satisfaction by daily feedback; acting as liaison between first level supervisor and upper management. Proactively monitors the work of assigned employees to ensure that customer satisfaction, safety, security, quality and employee relations meet or exceed standards. Maintain and control all required aspects of the operation in accordance with the corporate security program and government regulations as necessary.

Ensure that the required company audit requirements are undertaken to always ensure continuity and compliance. Read, understand and clarify the implementation of the site-specific security plan and ensure that all WFS staff are issued with a relevant company ID and that they are required to display this identity badge. Ensures they administer practices in a fair and equitable manner, where all employees, customers, vendors and other third parties are treated with respect

Responsibilities

 

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret WFS Employee Handbook, WFS Supervisors Manual, applicable union contract, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, USCBP policy, AMS procedures and procedures manuals.

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, and customers.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

· The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to operate equipment and hold necessary licensing (if applicable).

· Ability to perform specific responsibilities related to your shift. Reports to work on a regular and timely basis

· Ability to maintain confidentiality as required by heightened procedures associated with Customs examination station.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

· Two to five years' previous management/specialist supervisory experience in field service duties. College degree or equivalent experience.

· AMS & ACE experience.

· Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint..

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

 

· Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

· Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

· Walk short distances.

· Reach above and/or below shoulder. Handle/grasp documents or office equipment.

· Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time. Lift/carry/move objects, files and documents up to 30 pounds. Work in an office environment using standard office equipment. Talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone.

· Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
