Job Summary
The Payroll Specialist II will be responsible for processing payroll along with supporting the Payroll Management team in ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations
Responsibilities
- Responsible for working with Time and Attendance Coordinator to review employee hours for payroll uploads and works to help resolve inaccuracies
- Responsible for processing payroll for hourly and salary employees, reviewing for accuracy, facilitating appropriate corrections, and validating payroll for finalization and payment
- Reviews pay discrepancies and provides a resolve
- Processing and management of pay card payments and reconciliation • Handles employee pay inquires in a timely manner
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Supports audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Works closely with Compensation, benefits, labor relations and field operations • Performs other duties as assigned
- Work on special projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to show discretion with confidential information
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with payroll software preferably, ADP and SAP.
- Five-Seven years of related experience required.
- FPC designation desirable
