Vice President Cargo Northwest Region

The Vice President Cargo Northwest Region will have accountability and oversight for all cargo sales activity, revenue and yield development, growth planning opportunities across assigned region. In existing cargo locations, the role will have accountability for operational performance, safety and security, ensuring that all defined KPI targets are achieved in line with budget and performance specifications agreed with SVP Cargo, Regional Management and Cargo Station Managers. Working with the SVP Cargo and cargo leadership team the role will also define cargo strategy and commercial activity including customer satisfaction at existing stations, new business targets and business development opportunities including organic growth, new station openings and potential acquisition targets.

 

This role may require travel to differing locations throughout the United States.

 

Main accountabilities include:

 

Working closely with the regional teams and SVP of Cargo, you will be responsible for:

  • Increasing sales activity within the region
  • Increasing revenue and existing yield from current customers as well as maximizing capacity utilization in existing locations and sourcing additional handling capacity in markets where operations are at maximum warehouse utilization
  • Identifying opportunities for cargo growth including but not limited to; Opening new locations, identifying joint venture opportunities and potential mergers.
  • Ensuring delivery of agreed performance targets and associated KPI’s at all locations within U.S market unit.
  • Promoting best practice within our current cargo operations, working with the regional teams to drive performance levels and identify areas of improvement and further development.
  • Ensuring we have high quality management information with clearly identified metrics which allow us to monitor all elements and define their success.
  • Benchmarking against competitors’ offering whether that be local or regional competitors or self-handling options for airlines; and understanding our competitive position in all key geographical markets.
  • Identifying key productivity metrics and working with local station management to help drive delivery of budget targets
  • Continually developing our cargo product, ensuring not only short-term success but keeping operations “ahead of the game” in the medium to long term.
  • Building customer relationships at local and regional levels to support retention of existing business and helping to secure new opportunities from existing customers.
  • Acting as ambassador for the WFS cargo product at key industry conferences, forums and working groups

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrable cargo product or business development experience
  • Experience of working in complex organizations with a global footprint and diverse structures
  • Demonstrable experience of the air cargo market
  • Demonstrable cargo product or business development experience
  • Bachelors or better
