Job Summary

The Instructor Ramp Services is responsible for training airport ramp service agents in safety, security, and procedures related to ground handling. This includes both initial and recurring training as well as on-the-job practical training. Key duties include monitoring training records, teaching new procedures and government regulations, and conducting local audits.

 

The instructor will also update training manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed. Other responsibilities may involve data entry, preparing flight documents, and coordinating with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), local airport authorities, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. They will ensure compliance with flight and passenger documentation and processing procedures according to air carrier and Department of Transportation regulations.

 

The instructor will be based at a local airport and primarily support training efforts, reporting to local station management with a dotted line to the corporate training team.


Salary: $21.00/Hr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for ramp service personnel, covering safety protocols, equipment usage, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure training complies with FAA, TSA, and company safety regulations and standards.
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions for ground support equipment (GSE) operation and baggage handling.
  • Evaluate trainees' performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure staff certifications are up to date.
  • Collaborate with management to identify training needs and develop tailored programs.
  • Conduct regular safety drills and refreshers to reinforce compliance and operational excellence.
  • Participate in investigations of operational incidents and recommend corrective actions.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; additional certifications in aviation or training preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in ramp operations or ground services.
  • In-depth knowledge of FAA, TSA, and airport regulations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs in aviation or ground services.
  • Certification in workplace training, safety, or GSE operation.
  • Proficiency in training software and MS Office tools.
  • Ability to assess and adapt training methods to diverse learning styles.
  • Able to accommodate 10% travel

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be physically capable of demonstrating ramp equipment usage and lifting items up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires standing, walking, and operating equipment for extended periods.
