Job Summary
Responsibilities will include communicating company and position details to new hires prior to their start date, ensuring new hires have completed all pre-employment activities including background checks, drug screenings and onboarding paperwork such as Section 1 of i9’s, acknowledging company policies and procedures and more. The recruiting coordinator will also work closely with operations and training scheduling first day of work for new hires and communicating with new hires at each step of the process. Ultimately, you will organize and facilitate our company’s onboarding procedures for new hires.
Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly to new hires information about onboarding requirements; including shift and training schedules and more.
- Track in detail new hire progress to ensure all pre-employment activities have been completed in a timely manner to ensure a smooth hiring process.
- Coordinate frequently with Recruiting, Operations and Training to ensure pipeline of new hires is fully ready for hire on day one.
- Be a resource for new hires during their onboarding and badging process and be able to direct them to the appropiate department for questions related to benefits, payroll, etc
- The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment. A strong understanding of computer systems and excel requirements is preferred to align recruitment efforts with business needs.
- The Recruiter Coordinator also manages candidate communications, schedules interviews and assessments, and helps track progress throughout the hiring pipeline
- This position works closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates to facilitate interviews, coordinate onboarding tasks, maintain accurate records, and support compliance with hiring policies and procedures.
- The Recruiter Coordinator for Cargo Operations plays a critical role in supporting the full-cycle recruitment process to ensure the timely and efficient placement of qualified candidates for cargo-related roles.
- This position must complete a separate computer training and test with MDAD for our badging process. This training is required every 12 months to maintain active signatory status.
- Attendance at a CBP class is mandatory to fulfill the responsibilities associated with this role.
- This role will also require the employee to go to the MDAD badging office accompanied by a company driver to drop off or pick up documents for employees and visitors.
Minimum Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS/ATS).
- Proficient Excel knowledge and skills
- Basic knowledge of labor legislation.
- Team spirit and welcoming disposition.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Time management skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with all levels of employees
Preferred Skills
- SAP Success Factors preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Walk short distances.
- Reach above and/or below shoulder.
- Handle/grasp documents or office equipment.
- Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time.
- Lift/carry/move objects, files and documents up to 10 pounds.
- Work in an office environment using standard office equipment.
- Talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
