Job Summary

The GSE Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining and organizing the parts inventory, ensuring timely orders and backfills, and managing shipping and receiving processes. This role involves creating purchase orders, assessing daily parts needs, building PM kits, and generating weekly status reports while collaborating with multiple vendors to secure the best prices and availability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain parts inventory: daily orders to ensure parts are backfilled, organize and maintain parts room structure, monthly inventory audit cross-check (physical/D7), shipping and receiving parts
  • Create purchase orders (PO) for every order per unit
  • Daily parts assessment for units out of service (OOS)
  • Build daily PM kits for technicians
  • Generate weekly parts status reports, including ETA with vendors; follow up on long lead times
  • Work with multiple vendors to ensure best price and availability
  • Acquire quotes and communicate with management for best options
  • Pick up/drop off parts from local vendors as needed
  • Assign REF ID to PO on D7 when needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in ordering or inventory, or similar role required
  • Previous experience in a mechanical field preferred
  • Previous experience in data entry preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products, including Excel Pivot Tables and V-Lookup
  • Communication skills to coordinate with suppliers and customers
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Driver’s License required

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Theemployee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis
