Operational Support Manager

This individual works closely with the Operating Unit General Manager by supporting activities of account-specific resources. Ensures optimum economic and operational efficiency for the WFS account(s) assigned. Effectively utilizes and professionally develops all WFS personnel designated to account(s). Must possess a detailed knowledge of the international cargo industry.


Maximizes profits by performing the following duties, personally or through subordinate managers:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans, develops, and implements effective organizational strategies, as they relate to WFS customer contractual obligations and WFS corporate goals.

• Coordinates activities of all divisions or departments such as operations, sales, maintenance, or research and development, to effect operational efficiency and economy.

• Confers with support staff personnel in order to monitor, review, and implement appropriate operational action plans as required.

• Directs preparation of directives to division or department administrator outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented.

• Responsible for overall operations of the warehouse.

• Develop systems & procedures to improve the operating quality & efficiency of the warehouse.

• Supervise workgroup staff in accordance with regulatory guidelines, customer requirements, and WFS employee code of conduct/policies & procedures.

• Effectively troubleshoot & resolve operating difficulties.

• Work closely with Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance department, ensuring minimal downtime for all Company support equipment.

• Ensure compliance with all safety and security-related regulations.

• Develop, implement, and monitor GSE budget.

• Develop, implement, and monitor GSE Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.

• Negotiate all proposals & quotes related to new or used GSE products.
