Job Summary
The Lead Ramp & Passenger Services Agent oversees and supports ramp and passenger service operations, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to safety procedures, and high-quality service. This role involves guiding assigned personnel, demonstrating proper procedures, scheduling work assignments, and assisting management in resource utilization. Leads do not have disciplinary authority but are responsible for maintaining compliance with security regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support ramp and passenger service agents to ensure quality and efficiency
- Train and guide employees on proper work procedures, safety protocols, and operational methods
- Schedule and apportion work assignments to maintain smooth operations.
- Observe and analyze work methods, addressing challenges with management
- Assist in the utilization of tools, equipment, and materials to improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with security procedures, reporting any breaches or suspicious activities
- Perform all passenger service functions, including ticketing, baggage handling, reservations, and customer assistance.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service
- Adhere to company policies, including wearing the required uniform and insignia
- Report to work on a regular and timely basis
Minimum Requirements
- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
**This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.**
Preferred Skills
- Tolerate and answer repetitious questions from customers in a friendly, outgoing manner.
- Ability to judge distance.
- Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
- Ability to speak & be understood in giving directions/information to passengers.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds (31.9kg)
- Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather conditions as well as environmental conditions, i.e., jet engine fumes, vehicle emissions, dust, and jet engine noise
- Ability to judge distance
- Must be willing to meet appearance guidelines as prescribed by the customers serviced by WFS
