Overview:
The Electrical Mechanical Technician is the main responder to emergency situations. They carry out preventive and corrective maintenance at the electrical and mechanical level of the Passenger Boarding Bridges and HVAC system. This will be done during the dwell periods in between the flights and in the other non- operational hours.
Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):

Always maintain superior customer service and safe working practice.

Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, HVAC, diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.

Inspect diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems, Air Handling, AC Units, RTU.

Communicate with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems.

Analyze root causes of Electrical failures and propose remedy and resolution as well as continuous
monitoring for ways to improve and optimize the system.

Interpret schematics and engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s).

Preventive Maintenance – Inspection, adjustment, cleaning, replacement and prepare follow-up CM work orders if needed.

Completion of daily housekeeping duties individually and as a team.

Other duties as given by management team.
Required Education and Experience:
-
High School Diploma
-
Electrical training and experience in an industrial environment or minimum 3-year experience as maintenance mechanic and/or as an HVAC Technician.

Flexible work schedule for 24/7 operations

Valid Driver’s License
Other Requirements:
Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full time position-40 hours per week; 2 shifts (5:00am-1:30pm day/1:30pm-10:00pm night); overtime, weekend and holiday work are common. Fill in for vacations.
Travel:
This position requires local travel only.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Workers frequently bend, stoop, and crawl to work in tight, restricted areas. Push, pull, lift, parts, and components weighing up to 50 pounds in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, or installation of these parts and components from a sitting, standing, bending, squatting, knelling, or reaching overhead positions.

Lift and carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to climb 10 – 25 ft. in height on ladders and perform duties while working on ladders.

Must have good coordination and good balance for working on top of the boarding bridges up to 25-30 ft. above ground.

Must be able to stand 60 – 75% during an 8-hour shift.
-
Must be able to operate the controls for a forklift or man lift (authorized employees only) in congested area.
-
Drive vehicles weighing up to 3 tons on selected assignments in congested areas requiring good depth perception and ability to distinguish colors.
-
Must have good eyesight or prescription glasses to read small print on parts and schematics.
-
Work with color-coded wiring and other components which requires the ability to differentiate colors to include but not limited to red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, and orange.

Operate a variety of tools, including power tools, in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, and installing parts and components while reaching, twisting, turning, and gripping.

They will be lifting parts and tools for extended periods of time and handling equipment such as AC systems.
-
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working with and exposed to the mechanical parts and vibration. The environment can also be loud because of aircraft engines and equipment.

Must be able to read and understand electrical schematic.

Work in a high noise-level environment and tolerates dust and jet fumes. (Dust masks and earplugs are provided).

Read and interpret printed or computerized maintenance manuals. Write and type legibly to complete forms/paperwork as required.

Must be able to communicate – verbal and written – in English and be understood by others.

Be familiar with computers and Microsoft based operating systems.

Must be able to regulate own work with little supervision and accomplish tasks on own.

Employee’s personal hand tools are required

Must own and operate electrical multi-meter.
Required Experience:
-
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED preferred.
-
Valid US driver’s license.
-
Ability to work all shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), holidays, and days off.

Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
-
All Mechanics must have at least five (3) years’ experiences repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining passenger boarding bridges.

All Mechanics shall also be qualified/certified as Operators to operate passenger boarding bridges as part of their job function.

In addition, Mechanics may be directed by the Manager to perform Operator duties. While working as Operators, Mechanics shall be subject to the same requirements as Operators as specified herein.
