Job Summary

The Business Analyst will review, analyze, and document business processes to gain a complete understanding of current operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that drive operational and financial excellence across regions and stations. Primary focus areas include executive reporting, data analysis, business process optimization, financial modeling, requirements gathering, and technology-driven operational improvements.

 

This role serves as a key liaison between external customers, Operations, and the Core IT team, ensuring business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions that support organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.

 

This position reports to the Technical Product Manager - Cargo and will work closely with Regional Vice Presidents, Station General Managers, Accounting and Finance teams, external customers, and IT leadership. This is a remote position with approximately 25% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports, dashboards, presentations, and business reviews for leadership.
  • Partner with Regional Vice Presidents and WFS leadership to develop and enhance operational and financial reporting, KPI tracking, and performance measurement tools.
  • Gather, document, analyze, and validate business requirements from stakeholders across Operations, Customer organizations, and IT teams.
  • Act as a liaison between external customers, business stakeholders, Operations teams, and Core IT to ensure successful delivery of business and technology solutions.
  • Develop detailed business process documentation, workflows, user stories, process maps, and functional requirements.
  • Perform data analysis using SQL and other reporting tools to identify trends, operational inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, metrics, and analytical models that support strategic decision-making.
  • Work with databases and data sources to extract, validate, transform, and analyze information for business reporting and operational insights.
  • Support system implementations, process improvements, testing, data migration activities, user training, and change management initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 3-5 years of Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Operations Analyst, or related experience.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into technical specifications.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to query, analyze, and validate data from relational databases.
  • Experience with reporting, dashboard development, and business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of database structures, data management concepts, and data analysis methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting operational, logistics, aviation, transportation, or service-based businesses.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working with ERP, operational, or financial systems.
  • Understanding of systems integration, data flows, and application development lifecycles.
  • Proven ability to lead requirements gathering sessions and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive initiatives to completion.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and research capabilities.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, carry, or move objects up to 10 pounds.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable laws and company policies.
