Job Summary

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for driving data engineering efforts to deliver enterprise-wide capabilities and complex data solutions. Under the leadership of the Director of Data Engineering, this position will have key responsibilities include directing code design and delivery tasks associated with the integration, cleaning, transformation, and control of data in operational and analytical data systems. This role will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure the integrity, accessibility, and performance of our data systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including IT teams, business leaders, and external vendors, to understand requirements, gather feedback, and align cloud strategies with organizational objectives.
• Design, build, and support data pipelines to move data across various systems into a data lake.
• Implement modern data solutions with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Data Bricks and SQL data warehouse.
• Support data migrations with structured and non-structured data from on premise and open-source repositories into modern Azure data services.
• Ensure that proper processes are followed on the project, be familiar with industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
• Develop pipelines to pre-process data including collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing and visualizing large sets of data.
• Processes data by cleansing data and transforming them to proper storage structure for the purpose of querying and analysis using ETL and ELT process.
• Ensure data is accessible and usable to wider business units to enable a deeper and more timely understanding of operations.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of programming experience in Python or similar.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL.
• 5+ years delivering solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform with a special emphasis on data solutions and services.
• Applicable knowledge of principles summarized in the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Comprehensive understanding of data services including Azure SQL Database, Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse.
• Certifications in Microsoft Azure, or other relevant technologies.
• Experience on any BI tool like Power BI.
• Must be able to comply with Company policies as described in established guidelines.
• Bachelor of Computer Science, MIS or equivalent degree required.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes preferred.

• Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Occasionally move about inside an office settingto access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

• Reach above and/or below shoulder.
• Handle/grasp documents or office equipment.
• Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time.
• Lift/carry/move objects, files and documents up to 10 pounds.
• Talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone, with co-workers and external parties.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
