Job Summary
The Solution Architecture Specialist - UKG serves as the primary technical and functional expert for UKG Pro Workforce Management and related HR technology solutions. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing workforce management systems and integrations that support scheduling, timekeeping, absence management, and workforce analytics processes. The Specialist partners with HR, IT, and business leaders to translate strategic objectives into scalable, efficient system designs and configurations that enhance employee experience and business performance.
This position requires deep expertise in UKG Pro Workforce Management modules such as UKG Pro Absence, UKG Pro Advanced Scheduling, UKG Pro Workforce Management (Hourly), UKG Pro Accruals, UKG Pro Timekeeping Hourly, and UKG Pro Workforce Management Analytics, along with a strong understanding of HRIS best practices, data governance, and system integrations — including integration with SAP Employee Central (EC) and Employee Central Payroll (ECP). Experience with SSO and Microsoft Entra ID integration is preferred, and knowledge of Zaddons or other shift bidding solutions is a plus. The ideal candidate is both a technical problem solver and a strategic advisor—able to drive innovation, streamline HR processes, and ensure system reliability and compliance across the global HR ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Application Support and Maintenance: Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned applications, ensuring they function efficiently. Handle application configuration, updates, and user access management.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve application-related issues, collaborating with end-users, development teams, and vendors as needed.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor application performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance improvements to maintain system efficiency.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain documentation for applications, including workflows, troubleshooting guides, and support procedures. Regularly report on application performance and usage.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Ability to diagnose issues in software and systems, with experience in using monitoring and logging tools.
- Act as SME for the implementation of the module, hosting video conference calls, workshops, and other meetings as needed.
- Change Management: Work within established processes to implement application changes, updates, or upgrades, including testing and validation to minimize disruption.
- Collaboration with Development Teams: Coordinate with developers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure application integration aligns with organizational goals and technology standards.
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Familiarity with SDLC methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall approaches, as they apply to application deployment and updates.
- Run regular audits and QA testing to ensure the application is functioning as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Requires extensive knowledge of IT systems and instances of project implementations.
- 5 years’ experience in UKG Pro Workforce Management and other appropriate modules (UKG Pro Absence, UKG Pro Advanced Scheduling, UKG Pro Workforce Management (Hourly), UKG Pro Accruals, UKG Pro Timekeeping Hourly, and UKG Pro Workforce Management Analytics). Experience integrating with SAP Employee Central (EC) and Employee Central Payroll (ECP) required; SSO and Microsoft Entra ID integration experience preferred. Knowledge of Zaddons or other shift bidding solutions is a plus.
- Familiarity with Project management principles and communication. Need to have a strong analytical mind and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of system design, development, implementation, and user support principles and practices.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Ability to work for extended periods in a seated position using a computer and other standard office equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively via video conferencing, email, and other digital platforms.
- Occasional lifting of items such as laptops or documents, typically not exceeding 20 pounds, may be required for home office setup or travel.
- Visual acuity required for reading technical documentation and monitoring system performance.
