Job Summary
The Daily Staff Scheduler and Planner position is responsible for optimizing the daily, weekly, and monthly station work schedule to match operational needs. This position continuously monitors daily operational needs and adjusts the daily work schedule to support the operation. They are responsible for looking ahead at staffing needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and assisting with station leadership in developing appropriate work schedules and vacation bids.
Responsibilities
- Monitors daily/weekly/monthly scheduling needs and report to leadership team recommendations for additional/reduced coverage needs.
- Solicits additional coverage or volunteers to take time off to match operational and schedule needs.
- Approves and/or denies, as appropriate, shift trades, vacation time, or voluntary time off daily/weekly/monthly.
- Develops work schedule bids. Communicates to employees group schedule changes/updates frequently.
- Prepares daily rosters and makes appropriate updates “day of” for all employees/supervisors/managers.
- Tracks attendance and clears time clock exceptions as needed.
- Prioritizes tasks based on urgency and importance to ensure smooth operations.
- Conveys information clearly and ensures everyone is aligned with the schedule.
- Anticipates and resolves scheduling conflicts to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous staff planning, daily scheduling, building work schedules for large daily operations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and stakeholders.
- Problem solving.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable to adjust plans as needed when unexpected changes occur.
- Customer Service Oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, etc.)
Preferred Skills
- Previous airline operational experience.
- Airline operations leadership experience.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Sedentary work: 20% Standing, 20% Walking, 60% Sitting.
- Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers as required to work on computer.
- Work is performed in a typical office setting with no exposure to outside elements.
