Job Summary
The Air Logistics General Manager at our BDL location plans, directs, and coordinates, through subordinate personnel, warehouse and freight cargo operations in a dynamic and fast-moving environment. Manages and motivates warehouse and airport ramp personnel in a 24/7/365 operation. Confers and cooperates with upper management in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures. Analyzes records of daily operations to maintain knowledge of station activities. Reviews and analyzes expenditures, financial and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits. Prepares recommendations on findings for upper management evaluation. Recommends capital expenditures for the acquisition of new equipment, which would increase efficiency and services. Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of the facility budget.
Maintain and control all required aspects of the operation in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation. Ensure that the required company audit requirements are undertaken to ensure continuity and compliance at all times. Read, understand and clarify the implementation of the site-specific security plan and ensure that all WFS staff are issued with a relevant company ID and that they are required to display this identity badge. Enforces compliance of personnel with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations. Directs investigations into cause of internal and external complaints relating to the facility. May negotiate contracts with equipment and materials suppliers.

Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, lead, and manage staff to foster a culture of teamwork, motivation, and pride in a diverse, multi-cultural work environment.
- Develop next-level leaders and managers in leadership and management skills.
- Supervise staff to meet business needs and ensure performance aligns with the carrier’s Service Level Agreement standards.
- Prepare operational reports and provide weekly/monthly data, including special reports for senior leaders.
- Ensure operational leadership monitors and instructs Airport Ramp and Warehouse Agents to follow safety rules and standards.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing candidates, and making hiring decisions.
- Assist in employee relations and conflict resolution, prepare performance appraisals, and provide input for counseling and terminations
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or 5 years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination
- Airline/Logistics/Transportation experience preferred
- Prior experience managing a workforce of 200+ employees
- 8-10 years of leadership and management experience required
- Strong leadership skills to train and develop managers and staff
- Ability to prioritize in a dynamic work environment
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 schedule as needed
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

- English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
- Mental abilities (visual observation, mental rotation)
- Strong interpersonal skills (customer service, dependability)
- Proficient in MS Office, SAP, and other software
- Knowledge of advanced arithmetic and mathematics
- Familiarity with airline codes, prefixes, and air freight abbreviations
- Ability to comprehend airway bills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prepare written documents and counseling notices
- Leadership ability to direct Supervisors
