Job Summary
The work of the Mechanic classification includes the following: troubleshooting, disassembly, checking and cleaning, repairing, replacing, testing, adjusting, assembling, installing, servicing, fabricating, or towing any ground equipment while in service or while undergoing overhaul and/or modification. Certifies for quality of workmanship, including signing mechanical releases on field work.May be assigned to order, receive, inventory, secure or disburse parts and supplies on or off airport facilities. Works according to Company regulations and procedures and instructions from lead, supervisor or general manager. Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures and will communicate with other Company personnel as required in a manner designated by the Company. Comply with WFS site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations.Remain cognizant of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors'activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or via the WFS whistleblower program.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather and environmental conditions: Push, pull, lift, and parts and components weighing up to 60 pounds in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, or installation of these parts and components from a sitting, standing, bending, squatting, or overhead position.
- Work with color-coded wiring and other components which requires the ability to differentiate colors to include but not limited to red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, and orange.
- Operate a variety of tools, including power tools, in the process of assembling, disassembling, repairing, and installing parts and components while reaching, twisting, turning, and gripping.
Minimum Requirements
- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year Background check to obtain an Airport Badge.
- Ability to read and work from diagrams as required. Diesel experience preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with personal computer software helpful
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Work in a high noise-level environment.
