Job Summary

The Lead Passenger Ramp Agent oversees ramp operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with company procedures. This role involves guiding and supporting ramp agents, monitoring performance, and assisting management with workflow and resource utilization. While Leads do not have disciplinary authority, they play a key role in maintaining operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support ramp agents in daily operations.
  • Train and demonstrate proper work and safety procedures.
  • Assign and schedule work tasks to maintain efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze work methods and outcomes.
  • Identify and report operational issues to management.
  • Assist in the effective use of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with site security procedures.
  • Report security breaches, suspicious activity, or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements

  • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
  • Must be atleast 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.  
  • Valid driver's license.  
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), holidays, and days-off.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to maintain airport authority access, and be able to work scheduled shifts.
  • Must be able to follow direction and work safely.


**This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.** 

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in an airport environment
  • 1+ years in a ramp agent role

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds (31.9kg).
  • Twist, turn, stoop, bend, reach, and grip while checking baggage throughout an eight hour shift.
  • Ability to stand and walk for an eight hour shift.
  • Hear and respond to customers.
  • Ability to judge distance.
  • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
