Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Shuttle Drivers to join our team. As a Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for moving and organizing vehicles and equipment within our yard. This is a physically demanding role that requires strong attention to detail and the ability to operate various types of heavy equipment. This is not an over the road driving position, but Tractor Trailer driving experience is required. This job requires continuous coupling and uncoupling of tractor trailer and shifting of equipment. Primary time will be spent moving and maneuvering tractor trailer equipment into position for the tractor trailer and package handling operations. May include other "work as directed" activities. Keeps vehicle clean, polished, and in operating condition. Fuels vehicle and checks various fluid levels. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Must possess good depth perception and ability to distinguish colors red, green and yellow.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Safely operate manual transmission vehicles, forklifts, tractors, and other heavy equipment
•  Move vehicles and equipment within the yard to designated areas
• Load and unload freight from trucks using appropriate equipment
•  Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance as needed
•  Ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly secured and stored
•  Assist with inventory management and organization of the yard
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess applicable commercial driver's license (CDL), Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate and comply with all DOT regulations as it relates to operating Commercial Vehicles.
• Subject to random DOT drug testing.
• Requires self-motivation, a person who can work independently. Must be able to work well with others and take direction from team leaders/management. Work and drive trucks in a safe manner in a busy environment. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather. Excellent attendance and willingness to work overtime. Ability to adapt to a changing operation and willingness to cross train in other departments if required.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends ( i.e., Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Lift and /or move up to 70 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
