Job Summary

Control Room Operators monitor the material handling system status, dispatching jams and other problems to technicians on shift. Conduct investigations and administrate work orders and reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain superior customer service relations at ALL times
• Trains/evaluates new Control Room operators making sure new hires are able to perform all aspects of job.
• Monitor conveyor system status
• Dispatch technicians and unjammers as required on service calls (through radio)
• Determine/coordinate configuration changes to bypass off-service conveyor
• Report and track service calls and technical issues internally
• Generate and distribute work orders thru Maximo system, including closing completed work orders preparing for billing.
• Generate weekly and monthly reports as directed by site manager
• Determines sequence and approach with little assistance
• Carries out a variety of control room activities including but not limited to; assisting with remote access of and repairs to servers and workstations
• Communicates regularly with customers over the phone
• Performs housekeeping duties as directed by management team
• Be a team player and perform duties such as unjamming if necessary, during an emergency due to BHS breakdown

Minimum Requirements

• HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule for a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
• Background check and drug screen required
• Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge
• Exercise safe working practice at all times
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Preferred Skills

• Experience/knowledge of Maximo or any Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Experience in monitoring Closed Circuit TV cameras

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Employees work in the assured management areas of baggage, at repair stations, or at airfields and often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
• Employees will be working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration.
• Employees may be exposed to various noise levels due to aircraft engines and equipment.
• Employees are required to view screens for extended perions of time.
• Employees bend, lean, and frequently reach ladders and scaffolding.
• Employees are required to regularly speak and hear.
• Employees are often required to reach with their hands and arms.
• Employees may be required to perform a variety of activities that could include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing throughout their day.
• Employees frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds with the help of teammates.
• Employees will lift parts and tools for long periods of time and handle equipment such as transportation systems.
